Workshop: “The Great Organs fo Germany and Switzerland”
Learn about the great organs of Germany and Switzerland, from the famed St. Jakobi Stellwagen and Schnitgers in the north, to notable Silbermanns and other Bach country instruments of central Germany, to the world’s oldest playable organ at the Basilica of Valère in Sion, Switzerland.
Emily Spencer, MMus
As a performer, scholar and educator, Emily Spencer has both local and international presence in sacred music and music pedagogy.
Ms. Spencer’s contribution to sacred music in the United States and Europe spans over twenty-five years in organ and vocal performance.
Her scholarly work includes collaboration on research and education initiatives with prominent music historians.
She currently serves as Dean of the Salt Lake Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and performs and directs at St. Marks’ Cathedral in Salt Lake City.
