Dean's Message

January 2025

Before diving into events for 2025, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of the amazing board members, volunteers, and hosts who made our 2024 season such a success. I am grateful to each one of you!

I also want to briefly honor two longtime chapter members who passed away this past year: Mervin Brown and Bill Hesterman. Both were deeply involved in Utah’s organ community and had a hand in the building or maintenance of many instruments throughout the valley. Their expertise and knowledge will be sorely missed!

While we have several events coming up in the next two months, I want to jump ahead to announce March’s Member Recital.

We have been invited to join with Saint Ambrose Catholic Parish for 6:00 pm mass, stations of the cross, and a soup supper before beginning our member recital at 8:00 pm.

The theme we have chosen for the recital is, “For the Beauty of the Earth.”

We invite you to consider playing in the recital. We ask that you choose a piece no more than five minutes in length that reflects on nature in some way.

Maybe this will be just the motivation you need to learn something new!

Contact Halden Toy if you would like to play.

There are still spots available for both January’s Hauptwerk Openhausen and February’s workshop with Gabriele Terrone. Click on the links below to learn more and register.

Best wishes in the new year!
