Dean's Message
May 2025

Dear Friends,
Our programming year is coming to an end. We are excited to hold our closing social at The Organ Loft with a silent film and dinner. If you have never attended a silent film at The Organ Loft you are in for a treat!
In addition to enjoying dinner and movie, we will be celebrating two special members of our community with the first ever SLCAGO service awards.
The first award, given to a member of the guild for lifetime service, will be presented to Janet Griffin. She served as the dean of the Salt Lake City AGO chapter and chaired the 2003 Regional AGO convention. She served as organist at Our Lady of Lourdes and Cottonwood Presbyterian Church.
The second award will honor a “friend of the AGO.” This award is given to someone who is not a member of the AGO, but who has provided valuable service to the organ community.
This year, we will honor Dr. Roger Miller. In addition to teaching music history at the University of Utah for several decades, touching the lives of countless students, Dr. Miller played a pivotal role in the acquisition of the Libby Gardner Concert Hall organ and helped establish the Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance at the University of Utah.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate Janet and Dr. Miller!
